HOLMES, Lloyd Victor

Lloyd Victor Holmes of Colorado Springs, Colorado, age 79, died Saturday, October 24, in a Colorado Springs hospital. He was born in Williamsport, August 1, 1902, the son of Victor and Nellie Odle Holmes. June 18, 1926, he married Eulalia E. Allen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Allen of Hillsboro.

  Holmes attended Purdue University and the University of Illinois and had been a salesman for John Morrell Packing Company for 36 years before retiring in 1967. He had been a board member of the First Christian Church, a member of a Masonic Lodge and a member and past recorder of Al Kaly Shrine. He had more than 21 years of perfect attendance at the Manitou Springs Kiwanis Club, of which he was president in 1962 and Division 4 lieutenant governor in 1964. He also had been active in the Colorado Springs Drum Corps.

  Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Lorena Bymaster of Colorado Springs; a sister-in-law, Miss Helen Allen of Hillsboro; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Victor Allen of Covington, Georgia.
  Funeral services were held October 28 in the Colorado Springs First Christian Church with Rev. Warren M. Hile officiating. Masonic burial rites were held Monday afternoon in Highland Cemetery at Williamsport. - s
